Latics and Spurs On Top of the World

Latics and Spurs On Top of the World

Now I know the Premier League is popular but following Latics humiliating defeat at the hands of Spurs on Sunday we seem to have hit the headlines in some peculiar spots around the globe.

There are the usual suspects, The Sydney Herald, New York Times, we even made the North East with both the Sunderland Echo and The Northern Echo (Middlesbrough) but the strangest one for me has to be The Himalayan Times who report Tottenham Run Riot Over Wigan

`Spurs were only 1-0 up at the break, thanks to a goal by Peter Crouch before fellow England striker Defoe ran riot after half-time with Aaron Lennon, an own-goal by Chris Kirkland and Niko Kranjcar`s 90th minute effort adding to the North London club`s tally.`

The Himalayan Times

The Himalayan Times I ask you, the highest point on Earth and they are talking about the Latics, we are truly on top of the world.

I`m alright Yak!

The Latics Hit 2000 Points Milestone

Wigan Athletic achieved their 2000th point as a league club in the 1-1 draw with Fulham

You must have some fantastic memories of games that we have achieved points in over the years, and you must have a favourite that sticks out, either from the mists of time like that first win against Rochdale or something more recent like breaking our hoodoo against Chelsea, why not jot them down and send them in and Vital Latics will publish them under the heading 2000 Memories.

23/11/2009 23:10:00
"Top" article worbo and for me Sunday was just a 'bad day at the office' day - i'm sure you'll bounce back this weekend.
23/11/2009 23:33:00
your team was a disgrace, I would be ashamed of the team, they deserved to lose the wage and give it to charity for that performance ... obviously i am pleased as punch we thrashed your team but, disgusted at the fact Wigan would just fall away like that and show up you fans who pay good money to follow them. even portsmouth done you 4 -0 disgusting you have my sympathy ... careful you dont get dragged into a relegation battel as your confidence must be low now COYS!!!!
24/11/2009 11:25:00
Infamy, infamy, they've all got it infamy. I'll get my coat. I repeat what I said on another thread - Tottenham fans crow almost as loud as the rags do and it doesn't win them to many friends now does it? E17YID, talk about kicking someone when they're down eh? Were you abused as a child, or do you just abuse yourself?
24/11/2009 12:21:00
Fifth, I take it you are a retard... if you read my post correctly I am calling your players a disgrace and as much as I am happy we thrashed your teams sorry arse ... I feel sorry for you fans as I would hate to see 9 shipped past us ..... however after your stupid post I REALLY REALLY hope this is the start of your team falling away and getting relegated!!
24/11/2009 13:23:00
E17YID have you been reading articles on Vital Man City you naughty boy....its fiootball, its a game, get over it, we have, see you at the DW Stadium in February when we get our revenge...1-0
24/11/2009 13:25:00
E17YID, fifthcolumnblue isnt a Latics fan, he is Man City, but we are civilised up here not re-what? I'd say enjoy it whilst is lasts and get back to class or teacher will put you in detention
24/11/2009 13:27:00
E17YID, you're an embarrassment to the rest of us Spurs fans and are obviously one of the reasons we get a bad rep for being arrogant and obnoxious. If you came on here to brag your a moron and alternatively if you think what you wrote doesn't sound like bragging you're an even bigger moron. I noticed your comment on our forum about the game and you spent more time calling Keane a "Pikey" than actually commenting on the game. Idiot.
