Latics Legend Geoff Davies Comes Home

Latics legend Geoff Davies returns to the club this Saturday

Geoff Davies was the Wigan Athletic centre forward in the early 1970`s and I remember him mostly for a fantastic display against Manchester City in the FA Cup 3rd round when as a non-league club we almost did the impossible by taking the country`s top club all the way.

Geoff is going to be accompanied by author Ken Barlow who is well known to Vital Latics for his book `Mild and Bitter Were The Days` and both Geoff and Ken will be in the Supporters Club Bar, at the Robin Park Sports Centre next door to the Café (what used to be Champion`s Bar) before the match with Sunderland.

The bar opens at around 12.30 p.m., with Geoff and Ken being there from around 1.30 p.m... They will be holding a questions and answers session and so those who want to ask about what it was like back then can do so. Ken will also have his book on sale so if you want one for yourself or as a Christmas present why not take advantage.
