Paul Scharner Set For Everton Switch

Paul Scharner Set For Everton Switch

It is being reported that Wigan Athletic player Paul Scharner could be set to leave the club when the transfer window opens with a short trip up the East Lanc`s Road to Everton, providing that the Goodison Park club can find the funds to buy him that is.

It is a well documented fact that the madcap Austrian is out of contract at the Latics next summer and rather than lose him for nothing boss Roberto Martinez has hinted that he would be sold to get a fee for him.

Now whether that fee would be the £6 million release clause in his contract or a compromise is unclear but what is clear is that David Moyes looks to try and tempt a player to Merseyside who he has had his eyes on for the past two seasons at least.

Scharner has admirably filled in just behind the striker in an attacking midfield role for most of the season but it isn`t his position and Martinez really does need to bring a specialist in to the club for that position for the long term, so we could be saying farewell Herr Scharner in little over 4 weeks time.

That would be a big shame but Martinez needs to bring in an ideal replacement because he's a good player.

He would be sorely missed. Always seems to put in 100% and has an eye for pleasing the fans.

Would be a shame to see him go and if he does we HAVE to get a proper attacking mid in who is capable of playing at this level.
