Wigan Athletic - Kirkland - That Was Important

Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Chris Kirkland spoke to the BBC about how important it was to get back on track following last weeks performance and the 1-0 win over Sunderland at the DW Stadium allowed the Latics to do just that.

After the game yesterday TV crews wanted to see what Kirkland`s reaction was to getting the Spurs game out of his system and he obliged with a good interview.

Kirkie said that last week was both `upsetting and embarrassing` and that they have worked hard every day on the training ground since to get it right and that he is delighted that a clean sheet was recorded, he said it was `important not only for him but also for the rest of the players, the club, the fans and the city`
