Paul Scharner -That Win Was Deserved

Wigan Athletic player Paul Scharner spoke to the Latics official site after the win against Sunderland and he said that it was a much needed victory and a much deserved one.

The Austria international said it was pleasing to get the win after what was possibly the worst week of his and the rest of the teams careers, he said that the response was good and its given them something to build upon

Scharner said: "I am very happy we got the win, for everybody at the club it was the worst week of their career.

"The last result was awful but we responded with a good performance and deserved to win.

"We are all pleased for the fans that we got the win and we showed that we are much better than last week.

"It was very tough against Sunderland, we all know how Steve Bruce likes to play but in the end it was a very good win and one that we deserved."

Expected us to go down hill in the second half as we so often do after a shaky start. But the lads proved me wrong and showed the grit and determination we need. Hope this is the way of things to come.

Latics v Brighton - Big Game Preview

Brighton are flying high at the moment, currently 3rd in the Championship with just one away defeat, Newcastle at St James's Park and they have players, especially in attack, of exceptional quality at this level.
