What The Papers Say - Latics Vs Birmingham

Following yesterdays defeat at the hands of Alex McLeish`s Birmingham City I thought it might be an idea to see what the papers are saying, so as to try and get a balanced view so to speak, having been to the game and then watch again via Sky Sports Football First I felt that we were a tad unlucky to lose, a mad 30 minutes in the second half saw us undone.

In my opinion a draw would have probably been a fair result, but what do the press think, take a look below:

News of the World - A Kick Up The Brum - ALEX McLEISH claims he did little more than indulge in a polite half-time chat as he attempted to rectify Birmingham's wretched first-half showing. But the man who has the natural menace of Phil Mitchell on steroids did not need to fire off a Fergie-style rant to kick his players into action - read the full article here

Daily Mail - Larsson At The Double - In the half-time hush of the Birmingham dressing room, manager Alex McLeish carefully chose the words that produced an impressive response. - read the full article here

The Guardian - Birmingham Come From Behind - Having taken the lead through Charles N'Zogbia in the 33rd minute Wigan, showing more pace and thrust, should have extended their lead before half-time - read the full article here

The Sun - Wigan 2-3 Birmingham - BIRMINGHAM bounced back from a goal down to pile the misery on Wigan at the DW Stadium. - read the full article here

The Mirror - 3 in 11 Minutes - A resurgent Birmingham produced a rousing second-half comeback to leave frustrated Wigan boss Roberto Martinez to contemplate yet another wretchedly inconsistent afternoon. - read the full article here

Wigan Evening Post - Latics Have The Blues - Three goals in 11 minutes at the start of the second half changed the complexion of the game - read the full article here

I read them all and you know what...we still lost!!!! One thing was strange though, no mention anywhere of the foul on Scotland near the end of the game...stonewall penalty
