Lawro Predicts - Stoke Vs Latics

Former Liverpool defender and current Match of the Day pundit Mark 'Lawro` Lawrenson has done his weekly round of predictions for the BBC and he is predicting that the game between Stoke City and Wigan Athletic at the Britannia Stadium will end in a home win, lets see what his reasons are:

Stoke v Wigan

There has obviously been a bit of unrest at Stoke this week following the altercation between manager Tony Pulis and striker James Beattie.

You might call it old-fashioned management - the sort of thing that used to happen every other day.

I have seen lots of players held by the throat half way up the dressing room wall.

I don't think too much should not be made of it and I don't think it will affect Stoke's performance on Sunday.

Wigan are in the sort of cycle where they play well and win one week but then look awful and lose the next. They are extremely inconsistent.

Verdict: 2-0

Well Lawro I disagree, mainly due to our inconsistency that you point out, I can see us snatching a very creditable draw with a performance similar to that at Burnley a few weeks ago, my prediction is 1-1

It is a mockery of the game if Stoke beat us. Teams that rely on throw ins for goals are the pits.
