Latics Target Named Colombian Player of the Year

Wigan Athletic transfer target Jackson Martinez has been named Colombia`s player of the year as voted for by the national press in his home country.

It has also been claimed that Argentine club Racing are set to rival both the Latics and Real Zaragoza for the 6 foot striker but it is expected that he will become Roberto Martinez` first signing of the new transfer window.

Lets hope Hugo puts in a strong word. Then again, looking at how Wilsons' and Antonio's careers have benefitted from a season or two at Wigan should be enough. I just hope he adapts to the Premier League quicker tha Hugo did. Maybe we should have a cheeky bid for Voronin, he might not be what the scousers need, but would add some muscle to our team and take some of the pressure of Martinez.
