Hugo Rodallega - These Boots Were Made For Talking

Wigan Athletic and Colombia striker Hugo Rodallega has an eccentric collection of football boots but he says that it isn`t a fashion statement rather he just likes to clash with the kit he is wearing.

So far this season we have seen Hugo in yellow boots, red boots, orange boots, blue boots and white boots but one thing they all had in common, apart from being flamboyant, was they all had a Colombian flag emblazoned on them.

It appears that the 23 year old Latics leading goal scorer changes his boots more times than team mate Paul Scharner changes his hair style but so long as he keeps scoring then more power to him. Speaking about his boots Hugo says: 'Whichever boots I wear, they always have the Colombian flag on them.

'When I've got a boot deal in place I have to wear a certain pair and I'm unable to change them.

'But when that's out of term I like to mix-and-match.

'I like bright lively colours, and I like to wear ones that deliberately clash with the kit.

'It's not a fashion statement - more a preference. At the moment I've got yellow boots, red boots, orange boots, white boots and blue boots so quite a few, but I'll never wear a black pair!'
