Hugo Rodallega - I'll Hit Vidic Where it Hurts

Wigan Athletic and Colombia striker Hugo Rodallega has been talking about his spat with Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic back in August ahead of the two coming up against each other in tonight`s Premier League game at Old Trafford.

When the two sides met at the DW Stadium back at the start of the season Rodallega was caught in the face by a trailing arm from Vidic which Hugo thought was deliberate and he had to be restrained by match referee Howard Webb as he tried to get at the big Serbian.

Now he has had time to reflect on the incident Hugo says that he realises that he reacted in the wrong way and the right way is to hit him in football terms by going past him and scoring goals, something that the Latics leading goal scorer is looking forward to doing tonight.

Speaking about the incident and Vidic Rodallega said: 'It was one of those moments where the red mist takes over.

'But I realise that's not the way to go about things, and I know you can't solve issues like that. The best way to get the better of someone is to go past him and score goals, and beat him in football terms.'

'I always look forward to playing against big sides like United, but not with a view to renewing hostilities with Vidic.

'Vidic is a top defender, one of the best in the world. And what happened is all in the past as far as I'm concerned.

'It's more that you like to line-up against top-quality defenders, and he is one of those. I respect him a lot - and I just want to score against him.'
