'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Martinez - 'That Was Unacceptable'

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez was left an angry man by his teams abject performance at Old Trafford against Manchester United which ended up with a 5-0 tonking.

Before the game Martinez had been bullish and gave a rallying call asking the Latics to show what they are made of and to get about United, unfortunately the only getting on the night was United getting five goals.

The Latics played with a lack of passion, desire and cohesion, continually squandering possession and the off the ball effort was almost non-existent with little to no movement, poor marking and a very lack lustre display in what should be one of the highlights of the season for the players.

Martinez said that the display was totally unacceptable and he also said that it has happened too many times this season, he said: 'We never gave a game to United'

'We were extremely, extremely disappointing in all the things we have to do to be a team.

'You come to places like Old Trafford and it's not good enough to be good - you have to be perfect and be solid and earn the right to express yourself and try to win the football game.

'Today we started everything the other way round and we played like individuals and never looked like a team and when you do that you get heavily punished.

'It has happened too many times this season and it's unacceptable and we will have to correct it."

hahahaha, thanks for the 2 million on that deal lads. its a shame he had to leave swansea with no explanation for why, but it looks as if its going to be all in vein for him. half the goals ive seen you guys score this season have been individual efforts (Rodallega vs. Villa, Figueroa vs. Stoke) and it looks that way because the players have given up on the system. One thing i've noticed this season is when Wigan win, they look far the superior side, never a lucky win. But when they lose,, they lose BADLY. And now they're looking outside the premiership once again to inexperienced, unproven players. Goodbye martinez, its gonna be a loooooooooonnnnnnnnggggggg drop from here. Stay out of Swansea while your at it. :):):):):):)
