Ben Watson to Cardiff on Loan

Cardiff City have made enquiries about taking Wigan Athletic midfield man Ben Watson on loan for the rest of the season.

The combative midfield player is due back at the DW Stadium following a stint spent away at Loftus Road where he made 16 appearances for QPR scoring twice in a three month loan spell.

It would appear that the former Crystal Palace man doesn`t figure in Latics boss Roberto Martinez` plans with the manager saying: 'We're going to speak with Ben as soon as his loan finishes and we'll decide how he feels about the whole situation'

'We had a few other clubs that approached us with the idea of having Ben."
