Gary Caldwell Impresses Martinez

Wigan Athletic are being linked with a move for Celtic defender Gary Caldwell after the Scottish international impressed watching Latics boss Roberto Martinez in last Sundays Old Firm derby.

Martinez was there to scout Celtic striker Scott McDonald but was mightily impressed by the performance of Caldwell who is out of contract in the summer and now the Latics have put forward a bid somewhere in the region of 600,000 for the player who is also on Middlesborough`s wanted list.

The 27 year old centre half has made over 100 appearances for Celtic and also got 36 international caps for Scotland.

wigan-latics
Because Gordan Strachen is at Boro and he is trying to get Celtic players, im pretty sure that Caldwell was on the bench and aginst rangers and im also quite sure that he didnt come off the bench :S
lathamwafc
Wasnt he captain? Me thinks he played the full game
worbo
if this one happen i dont think we are buy ponce we will only buy one new central defender
TheBigDane
I think Ponce would be playing RB for us. He plays as an attacking CB in the Chile setup and likes to get forward I think.
