Wigan Athletic - Two Players Set To Join
Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has been speaking to the press about bringing players into the Latics and he says that it takes time to get the deals set up and the work starts back in the summer.
The Latics are being linked with a host of players at the moment and Martinez admits that there are two that are very close to being completed following some intense work in December, Martinez says: 'To get the players in who you really want takes a long, long time.
'When you are looking at players for January, the work really starts in the summer.
'And that's something that has probably never happened here before - we don't seem to have had that long-term vision in the past.
'We haven't stopped for the past month, and now the transfer window is open it's all about organising everything and sorting the final details.
'But I can say we are very advanced on one or two things at the moment.'

Waldo Ponce? Gary Caldwell? Roberto Canella? Maybe even Steve Gohoudi. Is that how you spell his name? We need to get some activity going though not sure if Matty Fryatt (if true) is the step we need to take to advance our striking options.
