Where`s Waldo? Latics in Trouble?

Wigan Athletic transfer target and Chile international defender Waldo Ponce has disappeared according to his current employers Argentina club Velez Sarsfield and they are claiming that Ponce as gone AWOL with the promise to report the Latics to FIFA if he turns up at the DW Stadium.

Latics boss Roberto Martinez has been chasing the fullback for a few months now and it was understood that he was close to agreeing a deal with the Latics and that his current contract with Velez Sarsfield was due to end on 31st December 2009 making Ponce a free agent.

Now confusion reigns with Sarsfield President Fernando Raffaini claiming that his star player has simply vanished without permission, still under contract and he doesn`t appear to be very happy with the Latics, Raffaini said: 'If Ponce signs a contract with Wigan, we are going to forbid the transfer and report Wigan to FIFA

'We have already ordered Ponce to show up here and attend training sessions with his team-mates, but he never made any reply to us.'

Ponce himself is determined to get to Wigan and recently said: 'What is left in my career is to play in Europe, I think this is the right moment for moving.'

It has also been disclosed that Ponce may not have played the required amount of international games to be granted a UK work permit throwing further doubt at him showing up for training at Christopher Park, this could run for a while yet.

I heard he was giving Mario a lift with his furniture removals. Can we sneak him in the Vital Wigan Curry night unnoticed, and if we do will that currupt little fart Michel Platini come after Worbo if we do?

If one of us marries him does that not allow him to stay? I'd marry another man for clean sheets (sounds even worse that it is).

The action(?) from yesterday's game at the DW Stadium between Wigan Athletic and Nottingham Forest which ended goalless:

Report - Latics 0 Forest 0 - What A Shocker

Thirteen games to save our Championship status, first up a home game against Nottingham Forest who are on a shocking run of form, conceded 10 goals in their last three matches, three of their first choice defenders missing through injury, they had lost 11 of their 16 away games this season with a -16 goal difference on the road and sat just six points above us in the table, surely a game that we would set out to win.

Checking the team selection I felt slightly optimistic but slightly conf
