Edman looks to stay close to home

Edman has found first team opportunities difficult to come by following a horrendous knee injury, with the excellent form of incumbent Maynor Figueroa and with his contract up at the end of the season the experienced Swede is expected to move to pastures new.

With reported interest from Dutch and German sides, it was widely expected that he would move in the January transfer window but his agent is quoted on the Sky Sprots website as saying he wishes to stay in England with a loan move to Sheffield United rumoured to interest him.

His reluctance to leave England is believed to be linked to the fact that he is soon to be a father for the third time.

Edman's expereince could come in useful as a back up for Martinez in the coming months, if he decides to see out his contract with Wigan.

I don't have a problem with the guy, but we can't keep him after spurs. Its sad though, he was a good player in his day, and there was no effort problem.

can't blame him totally for the spurs debacle, he had Hugo in front of him suffering from blurred vision and feel sick who didnt track back and help him against the form winger in the league. Manager should have pulled one or both of them off. His fault not Edmans

Nah, we had to stick Zog on Lennon. Im dead serious.

Zog was on the right wing that day
