Latics To Sign Marco Ruben From Villarreal

Spanish club Villarreal are reporting on their official website that Wigan Athletic have reached an agreement with them to sign striker Marco Ruben

The 23 year old Argentine joined Villarreal in 2008 from River Plate for 5 million but he only made one appearance for the first team in that time, he spent time loaned out to Recreativo Huelva staying for 18 months scoring 7 goals in 43 appearances.

This season Ruben has been playing in the Villarreal reserve side in Spain`s second division and he is enjoying a good goalscoring season so far.

According to Villarreal, Ruben is travelling to the UK to finalise the deal and sign his contract with the Latics and they thank him for his time with them and wish him all the best for the future.

loan deal then, makes sense, if it doesn't work out or if we go down then we arent tied into a meag deal
baskerville
think it will be a loan deal to end of season with option to buy

2 defenders, a keeper and now a striker ... not a bad transfer window. hopefully we can now play a 4-4-2 formation game-in game-out and give hugo some decent support
