Former Liverpool defender and current Match of the Day pundit Mark 'Lawro` Lawrenson has done his weekly round of predictions for the BBC and he is predicting that the game between Sunderland and Wigan Athletic tomorrow at the Stadium of Light will end in an home win for Sunderland, lets see what his reasons are:
Sunderland Vs Wigan
I did not get why Wigan rested so many players against Notts County in the FA Cup. Why not just get yourself into the fifth round of the competition? I know the Premier League is a massive deal, but could the players not have dealt with playing on Tuesday and Saturday? I don't get that decision.
I do worry about Wigan as I feel they look like they have the ability to sink like a stone into the bottom three. What I will say though is that there are probably three worse teams than them this season so they may survive. I know Sunderland's recent form has been poor but I think they'll win this one.
Verdict: 2-0
Well Lawro I see you have gone for the `home side` as per usual in these games with clubs close to each other in the league table, Sunderland have been in dreadful form lately and not won since November, add to that the fact that Martinez will be extremely fired up as he appears to really dislike Bruce and we just might be on a winner here. I am going for a 1-2 away win
