Wigan Athletic Talk To Transfer Target

Following an attempt to sign Paraguay international Cristian Riveros during the last transfer window it looks like Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez is planning to bring the exciting midfield star to the Latics during the summer.

Cristian Riveros is a Paraguay international currently playing for Mexican club Cruz Azul, he is a left sided midfielder and a prominent member of the Paraguay team that qualified at a saunter for the World Cup finals, he has 43 caps for his country scoring 8 goals.

The players agent, Jose Maria Gonzalez says that he has held talks with Latics about a proposed summer move, the players current deal with Cruz Azul runs out this year, Sunderland are also in the hunt for the player who is highly regarded.

Speaking to Mediotiempo Gonzalez says: 'We were waiting for Cruz Azul to improve their proposal for renewing the contract with Christian but as they didn't do it we are already having negotiations with Sunderland and Wigan'

'We are analysing his departure to European football. "

It appears that Gonzalez is attempting to get his man a pre-contract agreement and he says: "I hope that I can get a contract signed as soon as possible for Christian.

'My idea is to get resolved his future as soon as possible because otherwise he will arrive to South Africa being unsure about what will happen with him in the future.

'Christian doesn't want to leave towards to a league in a random way, his priority is England and Spain.

'For the moment we have proposals from Sunderland and Wigan.'

He looks quite good possibly for the Scharner role in the team

Scharner needs to role homself off to Everton in my opinion, and get a quid or two back into the club.
