Titus Bramble - Captain Fantastic

Titus Bramble - Captain Fantastic

When Wigan Athletic club captain Mario Melchiot suffered his head injury at Wolves it quickly became clear that it was serious enough to keep him out of the team for a couple of weeks at least, that then raised the question, who would step up and take the skippers arm band?

Fans favourite and defensive rock Titus Bramble proudly led the side out in the absence of Melchiot in the next league game against Everton at the DW Stadium and with the form of Emerson Boyce keeping Mario on the sidelines a little longer than expected Titus has been captaining the side for the past two Premier League games.

Bramble always speaks well off the pitch and on it he leads by example but modestly he says that although it is a great honour to wear the arm band the team is full off captains.

Speaking to the clubs official site Bramble said: 'It's been fantastic to wear the captain's armband, but we've got 11 captains out there when we play, having the armband doesn't make anything different'

'We all pull together and we all have a responsibility to give our very best for Wigan Athletic."
