What The Bosses Said - Latics 0-0 Bolton


Following last nights 0-0 draw between Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers at the DW Stadium both managers, Latics Roberto Martinez and Owen Coyle from Bolton, spoke to the press, lets see what they had to say:

Latics boss Roberto Martinez

'It's the same pitch for both sides. We must adapt and be ourselves and not use it as an excuse.

'We got into some great positions but maybe we got a bit anxious at times. We need to show a little composure and arrogance when we get these chances.

'I felt we did everything apart from score. We looked a threat and we have a great platform for our next game.'

Bolton boss Owen Coyle

'It was a very hard-fought game and we both tried to win it. We showed desire and hunger and felt we had the better goalscoring chances.

'Matt Taylor is disappointed he missed three chances near the end, but he's putting himself in those positions and if we bang on that door it'll open.

'We feel we should have got more than a point, but it could be important.'

Yet another game goes by without a goal and two more points get away. Either side could have won it with, I think Bolton creating and missing the better chances. I dont think either side deserved to lose. Still, Roberto is happy and satisfied with the performance. He is right about the pitch being the same for both teams. However, it is scary to see the back four trying to play the ball around as if it was a bowling green, not a good idea boys. Moreno seems to be a fine weather player who will probably be at his best on a firmer surface. One observation I noticed about him was his lack of ability to jump. He never won one header all game. I appreciate he was being marked by a six foot plus defender, but, he didnt seem to have the ability to get off the ground, much like Aisncough the Warriors winger. The playing surface is a disgrace which could lead to a return of the Paul Jewell and Steve Bruce hoof it forward style, which did keep us from relegation. McCarthy and Caldwell get better with every game and N'Zogbia is argrueably the best left side midfielder in the Premiership. The future might be rosy if we could just cling on to premier status.

can Martinez stop using Scotland and start using Thomas instead. Actually Scotland should be sold long time ago. If we don change a manager we might get relegated.
