'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Vote For Your Latics Man of the Match

The Wigan Athletic goalless draw with Bolton Wanderers at the DW Stadium may have also been a bit of a bore with not too much quality on display but which, if any of the Latics players stood out for you?

The pitch, which was in extremely poor condition, made flowing football nigh on an impossibility but there was still one or two good displays from the men in blue and white.

Gary Caldwell had another good game, he may not be the best defender the world has ever seen but what I like about him his the fact that he never shuts up, bossing and cajoling those around him to perform to a higher standard, I don`t think its any coincidence that since he has come into the team that the defence has markedly tightened up.

Last night was another one of those workman like performances from Caldwell, he is a good signing and with Bramble they are a good pairing.

James McCarthy made a speedy recovery from his hamstring injury and found himself at the centre of the Latics midfield, he struggled with the pitch somewhat but in a scrappy game I felt that Macca gave his all and looked to get the team going at every opportunity, I also thought that Maynor Figueroa had a decent game at left back, nothing spectacular but a no nonsense performance, apart from that wayward throw-in.

For me though Charles N`Zogbia was our class player once again, he looked dangerous when on the ball and Bolton doubled up on him throughout the game, his run and shot which crashed off the post was class and just a pity it didn`t cannon into the net off the woodwork.

So its little Charlie for me, but who was your Latics man of the match? To vote go to the poll on the right side of this page, select your option and then hit the submit button, its that simple.
