Wigan Athletic face Tottenham Hotspur in Sundays return fixture from the calamitous meeting back on 22nd November when 9 goals flew past a bedazzled Chris Kirkland and left the Latics reeling under their record defeat, well four months later and there just might be 9 reasons why Roberto Martinez and the Wigan fans will be celebrating come full time on Sunday.
- Victor Moses, the young lad has had a fantastic impact since his arrival at the DW Stadium from Crystal Palace, in fact the Latics haven`t lost any game that Moses has appeared in, so get him on from the start before this talisman loses his charm.
- Erik Edman got absolutely ripped by Aaron Lennon at White Hart Lane, although he took the brunt of the blame for the goals you could only really say he was at fault for 7 of them, any way Edman, who by the way is an ex-Spurs players, hmmm, as since left the Latics and tomorrow Maynor Figueroa will be at left back giving us some strength in that position.
- Not being the best travellers Spurs have only won four times away from WHL this season and they haven`t tasted victory in the Premier League away from home since they beat Blackburn 2-0 in December, in fact their whole form as dipped with just 2 victories in 8 league games since that win at Ewood Park
- Goal shy, believe it or not Spurs have found scoring goals a little difficult to do of late, in their last six Premier League games they have only found the back of the net on 3 occasions, quite poor for a side who scored 8 in 45 minutes
- Eidur Gudjohnsen who joined Spurs in the last transfer window has, it has just been revealed, amassed gambling debts of almost £6 million, now if he is to rake some of this money back I can see him keeping the rest of the Spurs squad up until the small hours in card schools, darts and snooker competitions and pop quizzes. Surely they will be tired out, I bet, whoops, I wager, whoops, come on pull it together, I can see a few bookies rubbing there hands tomorrow as a tired looking Spurs take to the field at 4:15 on a heavy pitch.
- Aaron Lennon according to the latest reports, will not be risked on the infamous DW pitch, since Lennon injured his groin back in December Spurs have become a little one dimensional and lost a lot of their creativity culminating in their recent poor form as mentioned above, so no Lennon, no worries, sounds a little Bob Marleyish lets hope that its music to the ears of Bob Martinez.
- Northern grit against Southern softies, only one winner on our home turf, Spurs coming up from London will not like the cold, the grey, the hail, the wind and a bouncing DW Stadium (well we can all dream), the pitch wont be to the Spurs liking and although it doesn`t really suit our style of play at least we are used to it.
- Crest fallen is how we were after the defeat at WHL back in November and this is one game that the players have been waiting for, there have been rumblings all week coming from the Latics camp and a spot of back at you is due and the lads, according to Senor Martinez are really fired up for this one
- Every dog has its day, we are due to give someone a good hiding with the chances that we have been creating lately and it could just be Harry Redknapps team that falls under the cosh of the Martinez juggernaut as we roll them aside with a fantastic display, similar to what a Spurs fan told me back in November but now its our turn and someone will get a thumping off the Latics sooner or later.
So in case you didn`t notice the nine reasons for a Latics victory spell out the word vengeance and that`s exactly what we will be getting tomorrow.
