Never In A Million Years - Le Tissier

Wigan Athletic were conned, that is the verdict of Sky Sports Soccer Saturday pundit and match analyser Matt Le Tissier after the former Southampton and England player watched the Birmingham Latics game on his studio monitor.

Birmingham City were awarded a penalty in first half stoppage time when Keith Fahey hit the ground with Latics full back Mario Melchiot close by, but replays show that there was no contact and Fahey took a blatant dive.

Le Tissier told studio anchor man Jeff Stelling that Birmingham won a penalty to take the points from the game but he said 'it was never a penalty in a million years` and stated that Anthony Taylor, the referee will be very disappointed when he sees the incident again because there was no contact.

Speaking on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday Le Tissier said: 'It was never a penalty in a million years, I think Anthony Taylor will be very disappointed with himself when he sees it on television because there was no contact.

'Melchiot stuck out a leg and went to go to get the ball and Fahey got the ball, toed it away and threw himself to the ground. There was no contact and, for me, the referee has been conned.

'Roberto Martinez will be fuming.'
