Dusko Tosic Linked With The Latics

Wigan Athletic are interested in bringing Serbia international left back Dusko Tosic to the DW Stadium according to the Daily Mail.

Tosic is a free agent after he had his contract with German club Werder Bremen cancelled so that he could join Portsmouth last month but due to the financial turmoil that is going on at Fratton Park the Premier League withheld his registration and he never officially became a Pompey player.

The 25 year old is now desperate to get himself fixed up with a club in order to get some playing time ahead of the World Cup and with his compatriot Vladimir Stojković at the Latics it looks like the connection is getting the rumour mill started.

With Erik Edman being allowed to leave during the last transfer window the Latics are desperately short of cover at left back and Tosic could well be an emergency option that would just reap some dividends.

Apparently Stoke City, Ajax and Real Sociedad are also interested.
