Lawro Predicts - Latics Vs Liverpool

Former Liverpool defender and current Match of the Day pundit Mark 'Lawro` Lawrenson has done his weekly round of predictions for the BBC and he is predicting that the game between Wigan Athletic and Liverpool at the DW Stadium will end in an away win for Liverpool, lets see what his reasons are:

Wigan V Liverpool

Wigan are struggling for goals at the moment, but it's not just about that - their problems are down to all-round weakness.

We're at a stage at the moment where one of the teams who go down will have an awful run, and the important thing is the timing of it. I've no doubt Wigan's players are all good athletes, but I'm not sure how much of a team they are. It's just not working for them - certain individuals are good, but they're just not working collectively. They used to get beaten, then win the next week, but they've had too many defeats now.

The pitch at Wigan has been relaid, which I think will help Liverpool. Steven Gerrard seems to have found his form and Fernando Torres is back, and they'll take thousands of supporters with them, which will make it seem like a home game for them.

Verdict: 1-2

Not surprising that Lawro has plumped for Liverpool with his connections and our current form but I think with the combination of the new pitch, the TV cameras and Liverpool being a bad side the Latics will sneak this one 2-1

I was going to say 1-1 but after meeting Martinez yesterday I am now so positive about the club that I can sense a win here so, 2-1 to the Latics
