Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez this week met with the editors of six Latics fans sites to talk football and yours truly was fortunate enough to have been there, as promised there will be a few articles reporting back on what was said and there will be links to the other articles and other sites articles as well.
One topic that Roberto spoke candidly about was the booing of the team and individual players and he says that it really disappoints him when it happens during the game, it affects the players and ultimately it can affect the result in a negative way.
Martinez says he accepts that supporters will express their opinions and that not everyone will be in favour of certain things that happen on the field of play and he respects those differences and welcomes the feedback from the supporters but not during the game, that is so detrimental and stupid.
Martinez says: "Well, everything we do is for the fans. Then when the fans are affecting a player to help get a result for the football club that really disappoints me because we are not helping ourselves.
"I have no problems with the fans after the game expressing their opinion about someone, myself, or the way we play, that`s fine. But during the ninety-five minutes, if we are going to affect our own results then I think we are a bit stupid in that respect, and that kills me.
"Everything we do is for Wigan Athletic.
"I understand different opinions and dislikes. I love the feedback from the fans but not booing during the game."
With the managers rallying cry last week of everyone pulling together for the good of the Latics then it is quite understandable that he will be frustrated by this and the treatment of certain players.
During the meeting Roberto was asked how he felt about Jason Scotland`s treatment from some sections of Latics supporters and again he said that it is disappointing.
Talking on Jason Scotland Martinez said: "I have never met anyone like Jason Scotland who cares about his career, about the way he is, he`s been suffering, doing extra work, getting extra coaching.
"At the moment it is like a big mental block so when you see that during the game he is working hard to get the result, and he doesn`t get that feeling from the fans, it is disappointing."
Roberto used the example of John Terry and how he his play has been affected by the boo`s when he said: "We all watched John Terry against Egypt.
"He is well affected but what has happened and is certainly not the same player. If an England captain gets affected by what is going on in his personal situation and his day to day work, what chance does a boy that is finding out about the Premiership have? Those are the differences between helping the player or not.
"Jason Scotland maybe 30 but he is such a sensitive player and he needs to feel the fans are behind him."
