Everton Res 1-4 Latics Res

Wigan Athletic reserves had a comfortable night in Widnes running out 4-1 winners against Everton reserves with two goals from Tomasz Kupisz and one each from Antonio Amaya and Tomasz Cywka.

Latics took the lead in the 13th minute following a clever pass from Rachid Bouaouzan which allowed Kupisz the opportunity to lob Turner in the Everton goal.

Antonio Amaya made it 2-0 on 24 minutes when following a corner he received the ball on the edge of the Everton box and hit a lovely volley into the back of the net.

Latics had further chances through Cywka, McManaman and Bouaouzan before Kupisz grabbed his second and Latics 3rd on 42 minutes when he thundered home a powerful volley.

Everton skipper Shane Duffy pulled a goal back on 65 minutes when he headed home but in all honesty the Latics were in total control and wrapped the game up when Tomasz Cywka slotted home in the 88th minute to make it 4-1 to Graham Barrows young side.

Hopefully we'll see the polish lads get a chance to play if we can secure safety or some games a bit earlier than we have been doing!

Latics v Wolves - Big Game Preview

There is a little bit of pressure starting to mount down at the Latics, no win in seven games and sitting bottom of the pile, the sooner we can get a three points haul in the bag the better.

Gary Caldwell felt that his team were unlucky not to win the game at Preston on Friday never mind lose it, a wickedly deflected effort early on followed by some resolute defending kept the Latics at bay, but a failure to take two excellent chances was the downfall as we lost by the odd goal for the 7t
