Fulham Ready To Move For Paul Scharner

Fulham Ready To Move For Paul Scharner

The Daily Mirror are reporting that Wigan Athletic player Paul Scharner will join Fulham this summer when his contract at the Latics expires.

The Austria international captain is the longest serving outfield player at the DW Stadium and it has become something of an annual will he wont he with regards to the 29 year old moving on to pastures new at the end of each season since he as been at the club.

Fulham have previously shown an interest in Scharner and the big defender does like to feel wanted plus his place in the Latics side is under threat with the immergence of young talent James McCarthy in midfield and the pairing of Bramble and Caldwell at the back, add this to the fact that Martinez likes his players to be comfortable in possession of the ball and we just might be seeing the last of Scharner as a Latics player.

Roy Hodgson has put together a good side down at Craven Cottage and they have proved with their exploits in the Europa League this season that they can mix it with the best, if the West London side can qualify once more for Europe that would probably be enough to entice Scharner down to Fulham.

Video Highlights - Wigan Athletic 0 Nottingham Forest 0

The action(?) from yesterday's game at the DW Stadium between Wigan Athletic and Nottingham Forest which ended goalless:

Report - Latics 0 Forest 0 - What A Shocker

Thirteen games to save our Championship status, first up a home game against Nottingham Forest who are on a shocking run of form, conceded 10 goals in their last three matches, three of their first choice defenders missing through injury, they had lost 11 of their 16 away games this season with a -16 goal difference on the road and sat just six points above us in the table, surely a game that we would set out to win.

Checking the team selection I felt slightly optimistic but slightly conf
