Liverpool Reserves 1-1 Latics Reserves

Liverpool 1-1 Wigan Athletic
Kelly 57 mins Mustoe 59 mins

Wigan Athletic reserves travelled to Merseyside for the second time this week and came away with another creditable result gaining a 1-1 draw with Liverpool reserves at Tranmere Rovers ground Prenton Park following on from Tuesdays 4-1 demolition of Everton.

A young Latics side came from behind with a well taken Jordan Mustoe free-kick which found the back of the net after the youngster hit the ball sweetly leaving Liverpool keeper Hansen with no chance.

The home side had taken the lead just two minutes earlier when on 57 minutes Liverpool full back Martin Kelly thundered home from close range.

Graham Barrow will be well pleased with the turn around in fortunes for his young guns and it looks like the Latics reserves are set to finish their season in style.

Latics: Nicholls; Buxton, Mustoe, Gohouri, Redmond; Routledge, Holt; Morris, Kupisz, Bouaouzan; Jukes

Subs: Williams, Breeze, Serrano, Boothman.

Liverpool: Hansen, Kelly , Mavinga, Ayala, Palsson, Duran , Dalla Valle, Irwin, Brouwer, Plessis , Kacaniklic.

Subs: Oldfield, Kohlert, Saric, Flanagan, Cooper
