Cash Plus Player Deal For Chimbonda

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to come back to Wigan Athletic with an offer former England midfielder Danny Murphy plus cash for Pascal Chimbonda after their earlier offer of 3 million was turned down by Latics manager Paul Jewell.

Murphy has only made 10 appearances for Spurs, 8 of them as a substitute, since he was signed from Charlton Athletic for a rumoured 2 million in the January transfer window. He would make a good replacement for Jimmy Bullard who joined Fulham at the end of the season.

Another possibility would be Spurs keeper Martin Fulop as well as, or instead of, Murphy. Wayne Routledge has also been mentioned as a possible part of a deal.

I suppose if Chimbonda is going to leave, you might as well get a useful player in exchange. Murphy has consistently shown he is a decent player and has heaps of premiership experience. He would be a good signing.

Cash and a useful exchange would be good business for Wigan. Either Murphy to fill the void left by Bullard or Kelly to fill that by Chimbonda.

He would do a great job for Wigan filling Bullards place but with the quality at spurs he just can't push his way in, good deal all round...

murphy is a wigan-class player, chimbonda is a spurs-class player it makes never ending sense. Give them 3m + murphy they should be laughing and we can kiss stalteri good bye. what about murphy, kelly and 1m?

Chimbonda WILL be a yid make no mistake he wants 2 better himself n murphy is a better big fish in a small pond then vice versa so happiness all round.

How about a Pompey deal, we give you Murphy, Kelly and Fulop and you give us Chimbonda and some cash.

I'd be happy with Murphy. I wish you'd hurry up and make a decent offer though so we can get shut of the ungrateful git.
