Fans Split By How Many Points Needed For Safety

Visitors to Vital Latics, according to the latest poll anyway, are split as to how many points will keep Wigan Athletic, or any other club for that matter, in the Premier League this season.

36 and 37 points as the necessary target were the joint top choice of voters but close by and more realistic in my opinion following the weekends results were 35 and 34 points

The poll results were as follows:

How many points will you need to be safe this season?

36 - 27%
37 - 27%
34 - 20%
35 - 20 %

The new poll is available and it is gauging your feeling as to who will win the Wednesday night clash between the Latics and Portsmouth, a must win game for Wigan whilst Pompey`s fate, in the league at least, is sealed as they are now officially relegated.

I am banking on Pompey being shattered and on too much of a high following their Wembley heroics in the FA cup semi-final against Spurs, coupled with nothing but pride to play for in the league this should and I stress the word should be a home win for the Latics which would all but guarantee Premier League safety for another season.

To participate in the poll simply access it on the right side of this page, select your option and then hit the submit button, it`s that easy.

After the game on Wednesday we will have the man of the match poll so don`t forget to participate in that also.

I think you're living in dreamland worbo. We've done just 1 three this season against the might of Chelsea. I think it'll be 1-1. Pompey will be fired up after their FA Cup win and will still be determined to restore some pride, despite the fact that they may be knackered, they'll still give it their all. The bottom 3 are as they are for me. Hull were dealt a real blow losing to Burnley and Burnley won't do enough to survive in the league. I have us finishing more or less where we are now. Then we can put a disappointing season behind us and concentrate on the next one.
