Benson in Honduras to Tie Up Another Deal

Wigan Athletic are being linked with a move for yet another Honduras international, left sided midfield man Emilio Izaguirre who is currently playing for Motagua in the Honduras top division.

Reports are that Latics General Manager John Benson has flown out to Tegucigalpa and met with the player and his representatives with a view to the 23 year old joining the Latics at the end of the current season.

Latics have close ties in Honduras having Hendry Thomas and Maynor Figueroa at the club and of course Wilson Palacios was a great success at Wigan before moving to Spurs.

Emilio Izaguirre has made 138 appearances for his club since making his debut as a 16 year old back in 2003, he also has 38 international caps for Honduras having made his debut back in 2007, he is a prominent member of their World Cup squad.

Izaguirre had a trial with Ipswich in 2008 but didn`t get clearance from Motagua so nothing came of it
