Latics To Have a Say in Title Destination

Wigan Athletic are set to have a major say in where the Premier League title ends up following a set of results from today that leaves the top two in an as you were situation.

Top of the pile Chelsea travelled to Liverpool and gained a 2-0 victory that sees the west London club consolidate their lead and move on to 83 points whilst Manchester United were in the North East today facing Sunderland and they managed to get a 1-0 win that keeps them in second place but still very much in touch on 82 points.

So its all down to the last day of the campaign, Chelsea will entertain the Latics at Stamford Bridge and United face Stoke City at Old Trafford and neither Ancelotti nor Ferguson will be taking their opponents lightly.

Wigan Athletic were the first team to beat Chelsea this season with a 3-1 hammering at the DW Stadium and Roberto Martinez will surely be sniffing the possibility of doing an illustrious double and pulling off one of the shocks of the season whilst Stoke boss Tony Pulis will have his side fired up after they were soundly beaten 7-0 at Stamford Bridge two weeks ago, he wont want a repeat of that.

So on to next Sunday and all to play for, no pressure on the Latics who can enjoy the occasion of once more being at the centre of focus of the title destination, its getting to be a bit of an annual occurrence.

The whole world thinks that Wigan will be Chelsea's party poopers. What I fail to understand is that Stoke will play United before they can get the title, even if Chelsea lose. The three points for United are as uncertain as Chelsea's is it not? Then why is it a foregone conclusion that they will get their three points and we'll have a bogey game? Stinks, absolutely stinks.

Chill JT, me thinks the tension is getting to you somewhat, from what I have heard off the pundits they all seem to think that Chelsea will stuff the Latics, I disagree with that, personally I think that both games will end in draws with us and Stoke very relaxed and the two title contenders frightened of cocking it up. Whatever happens it will be a very interesting day
