Charles N'Zogbia Scoops Double Player Award

Wigan Athletic player of the season award ceremony didn`t throw up any surprises last night with the seasons outstanding Latic Charles N`Zogbia scooping a double award, the Players Player of the Season and the fans Player of the Season.

The little Frenchman has had a fantastic season being on top form from the opening game away at Aston Villa and carrying that form right through the season underlying his quality.

Speaking after receiving his award N`Zogbia gave Latics fans a little hint of hope, despite all the speculation linking him with move away from the club N`Zogbia said that he was very happy at Wigan, enjoying his football and hopes that both himself and the team will go on to improve once again next season.

The other awards saw James McCarthy receive the young player of the season and unsurprisingly Maynor Figueroa picked up goal of the season for his effort against Stoke at the Britannia Stadium when he thundered in a glorious free-kick from his own half.

Mike Pollitt received the 'Outstanding Achievement Award` and there were a few words on the big man from special guests Nigel Spink and Kevin Kilbane, also both Chris Kirkland and club skipper Mario Melchiot spoke highly of Pollitt with the audience giving Latics current longest serving player a rapturous round of applause.
