Latics Announce New CEO

Wigan Athletic have wasted no time in appointing a replacement for retiring Chief Executive Brenda Spencer with the announcement that Jonathan Jackson will take up the role at the Latics with effect from 3rd July 2010.

Jonathan is the son of former Latics President and long time board member Stan Jackson who was heavily involved in talking Dave Whelan in to buying the club back in 1995.

A life long supporter of the Latics Jonathan is currently Finance Director of Total Fitness.

Speaking to the Latics official website Dave Whelan says he is pleased to be welcoming Jonathan on board, he said: 'Jonathan is somebody I have known for a long time through his father and his long association with the club.

'He is Wigan Athletic through and through and has an impeccable management track record.

'I believe he is the right man to take the club forward and I'm looking forward to welcoming him on board.'
