Villa and Arsenal Battle for Rodallega

Villa and Arsenal Battle for Rodallega

Aston Villa are set to battle it out with Arsenal for the signature of Wigan Athletic and Colombia striker Hugo Rodallega according to the Daily Mirror.

With Martin O`Neill having lost out on his pursuit of Serbia striker Nicola Zigic he has now turned his attentions to the more cultured Rodallega who started last season in sensational fashion cracking in a 35 yard thunder bolt for the Latics against Villa in the opening game.

The 24 year old finished the season top scorer at the DW Stadium with 10 league goals and he claims that Arsenal have made him an offer to move to the Emirates but he says that he would prefer a move to a club where he will be more likely to play in the majority of games having been an ever present for the Latics last season.

Villa would seem a more likely destination than Arsenal for Hugo in my mind

I tell you what, Villa can have Rodallega for Carew. You can keep Emile. He's way past his best now, unfortunately. A great servant and workhorse wherever he goes, but for me, a swap deal would be great.

No offense Robin but realy? What makes you think Villa would swap Carew for Rodallega?

I would actually like to think Rodallega might stay but when I think about it there's little chance of that given the the team/fans don't even get behind there own man.
