Wigan Athletic transfer target James McArthur is a wanted man according to his agent Willie McKay with a number of clubs registering their interest in the Hamilton Academicals midfield ace.
McKay says that McArthur is still a Hamilton player and that there is no rush to join anyone at the moment, McKay says:"There are a few clubs who have made their interest known to Hamilton, and we`re waiting to see what happens next.
"He is obviously still a Hamilton player, and we have to wait for them to give us the green light to speak to any club that makes them an acceptable offer.
"James may even decide to run his contract down and make a decision next year when he`ll be on a free transfer.
"He won`t be going anywhere on trial, though."
With McArthur strongly tipped to go to the Latics McKay says that there is a connection with his best mate James McCarthy already in the team and in manager and assistant Roberto Martinez and Graeme Jones they are two people that they have dealt with in the past
McKay continued: "James and James are good friends, and that would obviously be a huge attraction of joining Wigan.
"We`ve also dealt with Roberto Martinez and Graeme Jones before, and they`re good people who know a good player when they see one. I know Wigan like him a lot, but I don`t know about whether they have the finances.
"While young James McCarthy is probably technically a bit better, James McArthur has good determination.
"I`ll tell you what, though - you wouldn`t want to play against the two James` in the middle of the park."
