Latics Announce Warm-up Game Against Dundee United

Wigan Athletic have announced that boss Roberto Martinez and the first team squad will be travelling up to Scotland to face Dundee United at Tannadice on 8th August as they prepare for a sixth consecutive season in the Premier League.

The game comes hot on the heals of the friendly against Real Zaragoza at the DW Stadium, well 4 days actually, but it will help the players intensify their training and fitness levels ahead of the big kick-off.

Speaking to the clubs official site Martinez said of the Dundee United game: 'This will be ideal preparation for both clubs just in time for the beginning of the new season'

'I know from my time playing in Scotland how passionate the Dundee United supporters are and how intense the atmosphere they create at Tannadice Park is.

'Together with the fact they have an extremely competitive side who are on the back of a very successful season, means this will be an exciting and demanding contest.'

Also lined up for the first team squad are Oldham Athletic away on the 20th July, then its off to Austria and three friendlies there before returning back to the UK to face Real Zaragoza at the DW Stadium on 4th August and the trip to Dundee United on 8th August
