Clubs In For Roberts

Clubs In For Roberts

Premiership clubs Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers and Charlton Athletic are all interested in signing Jason Roberts, as well as relegeated Birmingham City, according to our old friend, agent Willie McKay.

McKay told Sky Sports: 'There have been three different offers from Besiktas, but they have been rejected by Wigan. Jason is away on holiday at the minute, but he is keen to speak to Besiktas to see what is on offer. He is looking to get the okay from Wigan to allow him to talk to them.

'I am aware of the interest from Birmingham but as far as we know there has been no offer. There has been a lot of talk but nothing has been done. I believe Aston Villa, Charlton and Blackburn are also keeping tabs on him.

'Obviously Wigan are looking to bring in a new striker and Jason feels he might have to go. He has been a good servant to Wigan and hopes they will let him go rather than move him on where they will get the most money. Jason wants his future sorted out as soon as possible.'

Hopefully he goes to Besiktas, but Wigan really need some quality players in to survive next season

Look at the banner at the top of this site. Bullard's gone, Chimbonda and Roberts are on the way. Filan could be number 3 keeper next year and so may leave. That only leaves PJ and it would be a disaster if he left. Please don't put any players on next year!

Willie McKay ??? I wouldn't trust that man any further than i could see him. He's one of the reasons that the bung inquiry is going on (allegedly).

Latics v Wolves - Big Game Preview

There is a little bit of pressure starting to mount down at the Latics, no win in seven games and sitting bottom of the pile, the sooner we can get a three points haul in the bag the better.

Gary Caldwell felt that his team were unlucky not to win the game at Preston on Friday never mind lose it, a wickedly deflected effort early on followed by some resolute defending kept the Latics at bay, but a failure to take two excellent chances was the downfall as we lost by the odd goal for the 7t
