Latics Set To Sign Al-Habsi From Bolton

Wigan Athletic are set to sign Bolton Wanderers and Oman international goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi following a medical at the DW Stadium this morning, he is being brought in due to an injury to Chris Kirkland that puts in doubt the Latics number 1`s ability to start the season.

Al-Habsi joined Bolton in 2006 from Norwegian club Oslo and made 10 starts for the Wanderers in his four seasons at the Reebok.

With 70 international caps the agile shot stopper does have quite a bit of experience behind him and hopefully he will prove to be a quality back up for the injury prone Kirkland.

Bad mistake by Bolton. Better than Jussi and Kirkland. Lucky Latics!

NOOO!!! Don't sell Al-Habsi, he is absolute quality. Miles better than half the first choice keepers in the premier league. His performance against Bayern Munich was first class. Hope were getting some serious money for him. Kirkland will have no chance getting into the first team now.
