Latics Look to Chelsea Striker Di Santo


Wigan Athletic are being linked with a loan move for a Chelsea youngster for the second season in a row according to the Daily Mirror.

The newspaper claim that Argentine striker Franco Di Santo is wanted by Latics boss Roberto Martinez to join the club on a season long loan with the possibility of making the switch permanent if Di Santo proves successful.

Last season Scott Sinclair made the temporary move from Stamford Bridge to the DW Stadium but didn`t exactly set the North West on fire though he did make 18 appearances for the Latics, whilst Sinclair was at Wigan Di Santo was also up North, at Blackburn on loan where he played in 22 games scoring just the one goal.

Bolton, Feyenoord and Twente Enschede are also interested in the striker but Martinez looks to have stolen a move and got in first.

I am a very, very chilled man ;) just answering your quezzie, in a very chilled way, yep we sent Scottie back at the end of the season, I think there was some dialogue about us keeping him permanently but we didnt want to pay a fee for him
