Fans Choice Wont Be Wigan Athletic Captain

Wigan Athletic supporters wanted Titus Bramble to take up the club captaincy role vacated by Mario Melchiots departure to pastures new, now it looks like Bramble is set to go the same way and leave the Latics as he looks to have secured a move to Sunderland.

The last poll on Vital Latics asked who we would want as captain now that the job was vacant and the big defender won by a landslide with 53% of the voters opting for Titus, well it isn`t going to happen.

The voting result is:

Titus Bramble - 53%
Gary Caldwell - 22%
Maynor Figueroa - 7%
Chris Kirkland - 4%
James McCarthy - 4%
Someone Else - 4%
Steve Gohouri - 3%
Antolin Alcaraz - 3%

So the fans choice now would appear to be Gary Caldwell who incidentally is likely to be out of action until late October due to his hip operations.

The new poll is available on the right side of this page and it is asking do you like the new kit?

It`s a move away from the stripes of recent seasons and a bit of a shock at first glance, but like most new things it is a grower and seeing the lads turn out in it against Oldham last night helps to accept the change from the stripes.

I am still undecided though, but what is your opinion, let us know by voting in the poll, to vote in the simply select your preferred option and then hit the submit button, its that simple.

i wouldnt have a keeper as captain, he is too far away form the action most of the time... But it worked for Spain in the world cup :P
