McArthur Sure Excited About The Latics

Wigan Athletic new boy James McArthur spoke about joining the Latics from SPL club Hamilton Academicals and he sure does seem like one excited young man.

McArthur made the switch officially yesterday (Friday) though the transfer seems to have been going on for an age and at one point it didn`t look like it was going to happen at all, but the talented Scotland U21 international is now part and parcel of the set up at the club and he is raring to get started.

The 22 year old midfield work horse spoke to the Latics official website and said that Graeme Jones sold the club to him and now he realises that the hard work begins but he is sure to work hard to achieve his goal of getting into the first team.

McArthur also said that he was pleased to have signed in time to make the preseason trip to the Austrian training camp and that he was looking forward to getting to know the lads in the squad, McArthur said: 'The last few days were tough not knowing what was happening'

'Then all of a sudden everything starting taking place and it became a very exciting time, I'm delighted now to have signed for Wigan Athletic Football Club.

'I've arrived at the right time, just before the team travel out to Austria and it'll be great to go away with the boys and get to know them better.

'Graeme Jones sold the club to me in all honesty, and after meeting the gaffer it was clear he's a man who knows an incredible amount about the game. I'm excited now to be working with both of them.

'I'm sure they'll make sure I work hard and I'll make sure I work hard to become a better player.

'I'll bring more hard work to the team and make sure I give my all in every game. I'll strive to make sure I'm in that team and if I get there I'll work doubly-hard to make sure I stay there.'
