Wigan Athletic Linked With Mamadou Samassa


Wigan Athletic, along with Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City are being linked to Mali international and former Marseille striker Mamadou Samassa who is available on a free after his contract at the French club ran out.

The 24 year old spent last season on loan at Valenciennes in the French Ligue 1 where he bagged 7 goals in 17 appearances and Samassa also made his international debut last season scoring Mali`s goal in their World Cup qualifying 1-1 draw against Benin

At 6` 2" Samassa is big, he is also strong and fast and being French born wouldn`t require a work permit

Wigan 1-2 Bradford Match Report

Latics dropped to a deserved 1-2 defeat at the hands of Bradford, our first loss at home in the league since March. It was an off-day, defence looked shaky from the off and once Nick Powell went off injured, we never really threatened to score. We are back at the DW on Tuesday against Doncaster Rovers, an opportunity to get back on track.
