Wigan Athletic 4-1 NK Rudar Velenje


Wigan Athletic romped home 4-1 in their latest warm up game with an emphatic display against Slovenian side NK Rudar Velenje at their Austrian training camp.

Latics lined up with a trialist at the back and Sekou Baradji given another chance to impress in midfield, Roman Golobart lined up at centre back and Jordi Gomez and Jason Scotland were also given a run out.

Subs: Pollitt, Gohouri, N'Zogbia, Rodallega, Boselli, Morris, McArthur

Latics were ahead within 6 minutes Momo Diame crossed for Jordi Gomez to put his header into the top corner with a smart finish

On 10 minutes and its 2-0, this time James McCarthy lashes a fantastic volley into the net following great work from Victor Moses.

27 minutes and the Latics are awarded a penalty when Momo Diame is brought down in the box, Jason Scotland makes no mistake from the spot 3-0

On 37 minutes NK Rudar pull a goal back with a smart finish at the back post.

A few changes made at half time, Boselli, McArthur, Gohouri, Rodallega and Pollitt all coming on.

Latics are awarded another penalty on 70 minutes when Mauro Boselli`s effort is handled on the line, the Argentine striker takes the spot kick himself and fires the ball into the top right hand corner 4-1 and thats the way it ends
