Wigan Athletic Trio On Way Out

Wigan Athletic trio Olivier Kapo, Daniel De Ridder and Jason Koumas have all been left behind to sort out their futures as the rest of the squad enjoy some preseason training and good old fashioned male bonding in Austria.

Kapo has said that he wants to play in France and Latics boss Roberto Martinez has told him he can go, no problem, whilst De Ridder is linked with a move back home to Ajax, again he has been told that the Latics wont stand in his way if he can get the move sorted out.

Koumas has been linked with West Brom and Newcastle as well as a few Championship clubs but the enigmatic former Wales international is a complete waste of space and it would be very surprising if anyone gave him a contract, more likely a pay as you play agreement would be the only way forward for the 30 year old.

With Mario Melchiot, Paul Scharner, Antonio Amaya and Titus Bramble all going through the exit door at the DW Stadium recently it looks like the Martinez cull is in full flow as the squad is being re-shaped in time for the new season.
