Hugo made his debut for the Latics against Liverpool on the day he signed coming on as a late substitute and hitting the bar with a glorious free kick.

The following season, 2009/10, Hugo was an ever present in the Premier League for the Latics and finished the season as the clubs leading scorer with 10 goals including the only goal of the games in the 1-0 wins against both Liverpool and Burnley, he also scored the Latics first goal of the season in the 2-0 win away at Aston Villa on the opening day

The Columbia international has been linked with a host of clubs but for now he remains a Latic.
