Latics Close To Another Deal?

Wigan Athletic are rumoured to be very close to clinching a deal to sign an un-named South American player.

With all the speculation surrounding Chile international forward Humberto Suazo gone quiet these past few days maybe he is the player and this deal could be sneaking in under the radar.

The Monterrey player spent a large portion of last season on loan at tomorrow nights friendly opponents La Liga side Real Zaragoza and was a big hit has he helped pull the Spanish club away from relegation, almost singlehandedly

Now me mentioning Suazo here is pure speculation and if it is the Chile hit man that we are close to signing then it would involve a club record fee, rumoured to be around £7 million needed to prise him away from his Mexican employers, to spend that sort of cash on top of what we have already splashed out this season on the likes of Boselli, Alcaraz and McArthur would suggest that a deal is also pretty close for one of our big players to be on their way out of the club.

I cant see that being Figueroa as to replace a left back with a forward just wont work so that leaves two, Charlie or Hugo. Again Charlie is an out and out wide man and you wouldn`t say that Suazo would be a replacement for our flying Frenchman, so down to Hugo?

Just pure speculation as I say

It's the word doing the rounds of the local media men at the moment, something is in the air

Of the ones mentioned as possible outgoings I would prefer it to be Hugo. It would give young Moses the opportunity to develop. Hecould play down the left with Bosselli or Suazo up front, or even both if he goes with two strikers. Only trouble is the fact that, strikers coming from South America seem to take a season to bed in and I'm not sure we could afford that.
