Latics Eye Up Stoke City's Tuncay

Wigan Athletic are reportedly in the hunt for Stoke City player Tuncay Şanlı and, according to the Daily Mail, had an opening 3 million bid turned down by Potters boss Tony Pulis.

The Turkey international signed for Stoke last August when he made the switch from relegated Middlesbrough for a fee of 5 million but hasn`t really settled at the Britannia Stadium finding himself in and out of the team and making the majority of his 30 appearances from the substitutes bench starting just 13 times.

Tuncay is a player that Latics boss Roberto Martinez feels would fit into his style of play and a deal was almost completed for the 28 year old last summer only for Stoke to step in at the eleventh hour.

Now with Stoke close to a deal with Ipswich over former Latics target Jon Walters and Ipswich in turn looking to take Jason Scotland from the Latics it looks like the merry-go-round is about to throw up some movement that could see Tuncay roll up at the DW Stadium
